Technical Departments

We satisfy our clients with speed and efficiency using multidisciplinarity as a tool to handle complex projects  and sustainability as one of the main goals. Today more than ever we strongly believe that facility maintenance is needed to keep the world moving, so we always ensure the highest quality of services.

Assessment

The Assessment department is focused on the assessment, restoration and reinforcement of existing structures. Many existing infrastructures, like historic buildings, present a state of deterioration induced by human or natural actions, which reduces their resistant capacity.

Furthermore, the increase in standard loads means that these structures, even if in good maintenance conditions, are often sub-standard compared to the current verification criteria. The verification approach is therefore different from the design of new structures, it must integrate knowledge of historical construction techniques, the cultural value and heritage of the work.

Infrastructure

Infrastructure plays a key role in economic development and the people’s quality of life. That is why their design, implementation, maintenance, and care is now more vital than ever to keep the country moving. ITS works with clients by providing comprehensive services and concrete solutions for all kinds of challenges, thanks to the technical know-how and years of experience in the infrastructure sector.

The team offers and develops engineering services ranging from feasibility studies through to final and executive designs to implement functional infrastructure with the aim of improving the socio-economic conditions of the territory, ensuring its functionality and compatibility with the environment and landscape. ITS develops services in the field of transportation infrastructure and network services, applying international environmental sustainability protocols. These include the Envision protocol, the first rating system for designing and implement sustainable infrastructure.

Structure

ITS Structures offers design services and static and seismic verification for the construction of new civil structures and contemporary buildings.
Our team of highly qualified engineers designs and optimizes structures in reinforced concrete, steel, wood and innovative, technologically advanced materials, giving life to ambitious ideas with creative skills and specialized techniques and helping to create economically sustainable and impact-conscious buildings and structures environmental and maintainability over time.

Data transfer links enable import and export cycles between analysis models, BIM systems and CAD platforms for total project control in both the design and execution phases, at any scale.

Inspection

ITS Inspection offers services for the inspection of major civil engineering works and for managing subsequent knowledge phases: mapping of degradation, diagnostics, execution of instrumental tests, safety checks, and design/installation of monitoring systems. The department’s operators are qualified for conducting NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) and Destructive Testing in accordance with UNI EN ISO 9712:2012 and UNI/PdR 56:2019 standards.

The strength of ITS Inspection lies in its team, comprising licensed civil structural engineers capable of inspecting and/or testing any civil work. Besides offering access via special means (by-bridge, helicopter, drone, climbing platforms), ITS Inspection also has a team of Engineer-Alpinists qualified for rope access work as per Legislative Decree 81/2008, capable of reaching all parts of the structure, even in rugged and difficult-to-access areas.

Alpine

ITS Alpine was born with the strategic objective of measuring itself in an evolved way with the themes related to hydro-geological, hydraulic and avalanche risk and in general to engineering for the mountains. The technicians of ITS Alpine, also thanks to the experience gained in the mountains and alpine environments, can develop advanced models for the study of all the natural phenomena that every year more and more cause serious damage to the settlements and infrastructure present on the territory, also in relation to the climate change in progress.

The same technicians, qualified for rope work, have access to the most challenging places using the most advanced mountaineering techniques and special instruments and means such as drones and helicopters. As well as the study and analysis of the phenomena, ITS Alpine can design and direct the works for defense and security works of the territory.

Sport & Welness

The ITS Sport team is also qualified to design cableways such as chair lifts, gondola lifts and cable cars for sport, tourism and leisure in the mountains and beyond.

Interaction with the various departments of ITS engineering company ensures the ability to offer complete services, including risk and territory analysis, design of defense works and cableways and monitoring. The team is also trained to carry out periodic checks on these systems, on welds, bolted joints and ropes.

Hydraulic

The historical era we live in requires more effort in water resources management due the increase of extreme weather events. In this context is where ITS Hydraulic department fits in: hydraulic studies and design of reclamation and irrigation works, aqueduct and sewer networks, storm water and wastewater disposal system, and also watercourses and hydraulic invariance works.

The 30 years experience of ITS’s Hydraulic engineering team allows us to find the best solution by ensuring mitigation and environmental and landscape enhancement.

Ground & Geotechnics

Soil-structure interaction is an issue that cuts across most of the civil engineering works, from the initial stages of excavation to the final in-service behavior of the constructed work. ITS Geotechnics was born from the need to provide assistance to all ITS internal departments in the various project areas, both nationally and internationally in support of geotechnical design, now increasingly important in civil engineering interventions.

ITS Geotechnics’ technicians are able to develop advanced 2D/3D modeling for the study of soil-structure interactions and the consequent design of works even in very heterogeneous contexts: provisional and definitive support works for the optimization of excavation volumes, foundation works for structures and infrastructures, consolidation and defense works for hydrogeological disruptions, improvement works on existing soils and environmental monitoring.
